UC San Diego Opt-Out Portal Information


    The Opt-Out Portal will open on the first day of instruction. If you attempt to log in before classes begin, you will receive an error message.

    Opt-Out Deadlines:
    • Summer Session 1 2025: July 7, 2025
    • Summer Session 2 2025: August 8, 2025
    • Special Session: Varies by start date, but generally 1 week after start of instruction.
    • Fall 2025: October 11, 2025
    • Winter 2026: January 17, 2026
    • Spring 2026: April 11, 2026
    Important: The portal closes at 10:00 PM PST.


    Steps to Complete the Opt-Out Process:

    1. Visit the UC San Diego Opt-Out Portal.
    2. Click on "Create an Account" located at the bottom right.
    3. Use your UCSD email address to create your account.
    4. Click the "Opt-Out" button to proceed.
    5. You will receive a confirmation email once your Opt-Out process is complete.


    Error Message to Watch For:
    If you see the following message, it means you are not eligible to opt out at this time:

    "The email address entered is not active, or there is no opt-out or rental registration available. Please confirm your enrollment in the Follett Access course."
